CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) recognized Trine University men's volleyball sophomore defensive specialist and libero Hunter Haas [Cincinnati, Ohio / Bishop Moeller] as the MCVL Defensive Player of the Week.
The Thunder were 3-0 this week at the Fontbonne Invitational with victories against Augustana College, Loras College and Concordia University Chicago. Haas averaged 14.3 digs per match and had 23 in the five-set win over previously undefeated Loras. The mark is one off his own school record. Haas also added nine assists, including six versus the Duhawks to tie his season and career-high.
Trine has now won five matches in a row and with a fully healthy squad, look to avenge two early season losses to Indiana Tech University on Tuesday, February 15. First serve in Fort Wayne is set for 7 pm.
