NEW ORLEANS-- The Trine men's and women's cross country teams were named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic team, the association announced Wednesday.

The Thunder women earned an outstanding 3.50 GPA this past semester, while the men posted a 3.32 GPA. Overall, 211 women's teams and 152 men's teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Men's runner Adam Schaaf (Greentown, Ind./Eastern) earned Individual All-Academic distinction. Honorees must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and have finished in the top 25 percent of finishers at regionals. Schaaf is one of 246 men in the nation to have earned that honor.

The cross country teams combined to place eight student-athletes on the MIAA Honor Roll during the 2013-14 school year. Student-athletes on the Honor Roll must have accumulated a 3.50 GPA and lettered in their varsity sport.
