ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine cross country teams have announced their schedules for the 2015 season.
The Thunder have seven races on the schedule, including their first home meet since 2011. Trine will host the MIAA Jamboree on Sep. 26, giving the teams the opportunity to compete on a home course that winds its way through and around Zollner Golf Course. The results of the Jamboree count one-third toward the determination of the MIAA title, with the remaining two-thirds being made up of the results of the MIAA Championships. This year's championship race is slated for Oct. 31 at Olivet.
The teams open the season Sep. 1 in a rare mid-week race at the Manchester University Hokum Karem. Each team got off to a strong start at the event last season, with the Thunder men taking first and the women placing fourth. The teams will also make a return trip to the Indiana Intercollegiate, being hosted this year by Indiana State.
One of the highlights of the season will be the opportunity to compete on the national championship course in the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational. The race will be held at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winnecone, Wis.
Last season, the men's cross country team placed fourth in the MIAA to earn its best finish since 2007. Adam Schaaf (Greentown, Ind./Eastern) earned all-conference honors. The Thunder women placed seventh for the third-consecutive year.
