Thunder Compete at Taylor University Ray Bullock Invitational

UPLAND, IND.  --  The Trine University men's cross country teams competed at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University in Upland, Ind.

As a team, the Thunder finished in third place out of 11 teams with 66 points.  The University of Indianapolis finished as the team champion with 25 points and was followed by host school Taylor in second place with 54 points.

The top overall time of the evening for the Thunder was recorded by junior Jack Beakas (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) who ran a time of 26:49.1 which was good enough to put him just outside the top-10 in 11th place out of 135 total runners.

Four other individuals finished in the top-25 to lead Trine that included an effort of 27:03.5 by junior Derek Miller (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) and placed one position back of Beakas in 12th place.  

The duo of juniors Neil O'Brien (Whiteland, Ind./Roncalli) and Levi Neuzerling (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) also finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th places with marks of 27:16.7 and 27:17.6 respectively.

Junior Harrison Korkos (Rochester, Ind./Rochester) rounded out the top-25 performances with a 23rd-place showing after running a time of 27:38.9.

Trine will next compete on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Thunder travel to Louisville, Ky. to take part in the Louisville Classic.  The men's race is scheduled to start at noon
