ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University junior men's cross country runner, Jack Beakas (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb), has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Cross Country "Runner of the Week."
Beakas had a strong showing this past weekend at the Oberlin (Ohio) College Inter-Regional Rumble to help lead the Thunder to a 13th place finish. Individually, Beakas was the first Trine competitor to cross the finish line after posting a time of 25:05.5 which put him in 15th place among 339 total runners.
Trine will next compete in the MIAA Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Thunder will serve as hosts of this year's championship with the race held on Trine's campus. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m.
