HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Trine University cross country teams competed at the Huntington University Invitational on Friday, with both teams gaining valuable experience at the event.
The men's team placed third out of the four full teams present, and the women were sixth.
Top finishers for the men's 8K race included Zachary Brickler [Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis] and Aidan Lapp [South Bend, Ind. / James W. Riley]. Brickler was 11th with a time of 27:50.1 and Lapp 14th at 28:19.8.
On the women's side, Hannah Hawkins [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Bishop Luers] was 24th and Marissa Kenney [South Bend, Ind. / J.W. Riley] 26th in the 5K event.
Both teams are in action again on Saturday, October 2 as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer Park. The men's race will commence at 12 pm, with the women following at 12:45 pm.
