Men's Cross Country Places 11th at Great Lakes Regional

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – The Trine University men's cross country team finished 11th at the Great Lakes Regional on Saturday morning.

John Carroll University, Otterbein University and Case Western Reserve University were the top three teams, with Alex Phillip from John Carroll winning the individual title.

"Our goal was to be in the top 10," Head Coach Zach Raber commented. "We were just short of that, but we return a lot of our men next year. Noah Acker [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] had an outstanding race today!"

Acker led the Thunder with a 24th place finish and an 8K time of 25:32.0. He took 20 seconds off of his best career time at the event and secured his first career All-Region honor.

Jacob Myers [Kokomo, Ind. / Northwestern] and Joseph Packard [Kokomo, Ind. / Western] were the next two Trine finishers in 81st and 88th. Myers wrapped up the season with a time of 26:36.4 and Packard an 8K time of 26:40.4.

Zachary Brickler [Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis] and Quinten Prieur [Constantine, Mich. / Constantine] were the final scoring members of the Thunder men's cross country team in 91st and 96th. Brickler competed the race with a time of 26:41.8. The sophomore Prieur had his best time of the season on Saturday at 26:45.3.
