Men's Cross Country in Action Friday at the Rumble in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On Friday evening, the Trine University men's cross country team was in action at the Rumble in the Fort. Purdue-Fort Wayne hosted the event. The 8K race was won by the Mastadons and Trine finished runners up.

The Thunder were led by Noah Acker with a first-place time of 25:58.7. He makes it back-to-back races where he is the best-finishing collegiate student-athlete. Zachary Brickler and Jacob Myers were also top-10 finishers, with Brickler in eighth and Myers tenth. Brickler completed the race with a time of 26:16.1 and Myers 26:22.4.

Ryan Hoopingarner and Eli Lantz completed the Trine men's scoring for the event. Hoopingarner went 26:24.4 to place 11th overall and Lantz behind him at 27:09.5, good for 15th place.

The Thunder go from their shortest trip of the regular season to their longest next weekend in the Yellowjacket XC Invitational at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, New York. That event takes place on Saturday, September 17.
