Trine Places Third at MIAA Cross Country Championships with Three Named All-MIAA

SHEPHERD, Mich. – The Trine University men's cross country team finished third overall at Saturday's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Cross Country Championships at Alma College.

The Thunder compiled 75 points as a team, only behind the conference champions Calvin University with 27 points and Hope College with 31.

Three All-MIAA honorees led the Thunder to a podium finish in the men's 8K race. Senior Noah Acker was the best finisher for Trine with a ninth-place time of 25:16.2. He took 20 seconds off his previous event time en route to a new career-best. Acker makes it back-to-back years placing on the All-MIAA squad.

Sophomores Joseph Packard and Eli Lantz were also members of the All-MIAA Second Team. Packard was 11th at 25:21.2 and Lantz 16th with a time of 25:35.8. Both individuals had career-best times at the event. It is the first All-MIAA award for the student-athletes.

Senior Jacob Myers was one spot back of Lantz with a time of 25:48.7, a season and career-best. Junior Zachary Brickler finished in 26th place overall, but scored 22 points for the team. He completed the race at 26:05.1.

Next up for the Trine men is the NCAA Great Lakes Regional at Hope College on Saturday, November 12. The men's race begins at 11 am.
