MISHAWAKA, Ind. – At the Bethel University XC Invitational, the Trine University men's cross country team finished seventh out of 16 teams competing in the event. Indiana Wesleyan University dominated the race by scoring seven of the top eight finishers.
The top finisher for the Thunder was sophomore Drew Sillaway with a time of 26:35.40 in the 8k race. He placed 31st overall with junior Yosef Solomon right behind him in 32nd at 26:38.1. Senior Zachary Brickler concluded the group of Trine student-athletes in 34th (26:43.9). Solomon set a new personal best in the race.
Sophomore Eli Shoup was 49th on the leaderboard with a time of 27:05.5. Senior Price Knowles (61st), freshman Caleb Boes (63rd) and sophomore Ethan Hoffman (66th) secured the final scoring spots for the team. Knowles completed the event in 27:22.9, Boes ran a time of 27:26.5, while Hoffman held steady at 27:30.9. Knowles and Boes each topped their previous best 8k times in the race.
In the final meet before the conference championships, the Thunder will take part in the Augustana Interregional Invitational at Saukie Golf Course on Saturday, October 14.
