Fuller Named Pitcher of the Week

ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine pitcher Bree Fuller the league's Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Fuller (Hubbardston, Mich./Fulton) was named Pitcher of the Week by the conference for the fourth-consecutive week and ourth time in her career. The junior had a week for the record books, throwing a perfect game to help Trine set the all-time MIAA mark for consecutive conference wins. Trine has now won 46-consecutive league games. The perfect game was the ninth in MIAA-history and the first of Fuller's career. Fuller has also thrown a no-hitter this season, walking just two in a victory over Calvin. Earlier last week, Fuller threw a two-hitter and struck out 14 in a 3-1 non-conference victory over John Carroll.

Fuller has been dominant in the cirlce all season for the Thunder. She leads the MIAA in strikeouts (183), strikeouts per game (10.79), saves (3) and wins (18). Fuller went 8-0 with a 0.52 ERA in conference games this season, striking out 89 in just 53.2 innings.

The Trine softball team enters the MIAA Tournament as the number one seed with an overall record of 33-2. The Thunder will host Calvin in the opening round this Thursday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m.
