LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- Six members of the Trine softball team were named to the NFCA Division III Softball All-Central Region teams.
Carly Searles (Levering, Mich./Petoskey), Justine Robles (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood) and Kaylee Fox (Vermilion, Ohio/Edison) all earned first-team honors. Jamie Schnarr (Kettering, Ohio/Kettering) picked up second-team accolades, while Kaitlyn Clark (Mount Juliet, Tenn./Wilson Central) and Leah Hall (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) were named to the third team. Searles, Fox and Robles advance to the national All-American ballot with their first-team All-Region selections. Searles will be seeking the third All-American honor of her career.
Searles earned All-Region honors for the third time in her career, adding to a season that saw the senior win the MIAA Most Valuable Position Player award. The two-time All-American set the NCAA Division III career records for hits (306), runs scored (261) and triples (48) this season. The senior picked up 16 hits in 16 consecutive at-bats, the second-longest such streak in collegiate softball history.
Searles concluded the season with a .523 batting average, .601 on-base percentage and .899 slugging percentage. She notched nine home runs, 36 RBIs, 10 triples and 31 stolen bases.
Robles picked up All-Region honors for the first time in her Trine career after winning the MIAA Most Valuable Pitcher award. The junior tossed a school-record seven shutouts this season and completed 17 of her 22 starts. The two-time all-conference performer finished with an 18-4 record to go along with a 2.45 ERA. She struck out 151 batters in 137.1 innings.
Fox had a stellar debut campaign to earn All-Region honors. The freshman tied the MIAA-record with nine home runs in conference play and finished with 16 homers overall- tied for the second most in a single season in team history. Fox batted .405 and slugged at a .797 clip. Her 55 RBIs this season are the third-most in a season in school history. Fox is already ninth in team history in home runs.
Schnarr moved to shortstop after starting at first base last season and gave the Thunder an All-MIAA performer in the middle of the infield. The senior set career-highs with a .331 batting average, eight home runs and 44 RBIs while batting cleanup throughout most of the season. Schnarr slugged .597 while leading the team with 13 doubles to earn her first-career All-Region honors.
Clark was recognized on the All-Region teams for the second-straight season. The junior batted .342 and slugged .632 on her way to hitting 10 home runs and driving in 46. Clark will enter her senior season next year as Trine's all-time leader in career RBIs with 152. Her 31 career home runs are the second-most in team history. The left fielder was named to the All-MIAA Second Team this year.
Hall capped off her collegiate career with another solid season to earn her first All-Region nod. The senior also picked up her second all-conference honors this year. Hall set career-best marks with a .373 batting average, .563 slugging percentage and 39 RBIs. She hit four home runs. Hall finished her career third in team history in hits (184) and fourth in RBIs (137).
The six players led Trine to a 39-5 overall record in a season that included the team's fourth-consecutive MIAA regular-season title and third-straight MIAA Tournament championship.
This is the third-straight year Trine has had six NFCA All-Region performers.
