ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine softball team will compete at the University of Kentucky in the team's season-opening tournament.
The Transylvania University Softball Tournament will now be held at the University of Kentucky's John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Ky. The change in venue gives the Thunder the opportunity to compete at a premier NCAA Division I facility in the team's season opening tournament. Trine opens play in the tournament Saturday, Mar. 4 at noon against DePauw.

The Thunder enter the season ranked No. 19 in the nation by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Trine was picked to finish second in the MIAA by the conference's coaches in the league preseason poll.
Last season, the Thunder won a share of its fifth consecutive MIAA regular-season title. Trine went on to claim its second NCAA Regional title and hosted a Super Regional round for the first time in program history.
