Baugh Tabbed MIAA Athlete of the Week

ANGOLA, IND -- Freshman Kennedy Baugh (Walton, Ky. / Notre Dame Academy) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

Trine finished the week 2-0 with both wins coming during a home doubleheader against MIAA opponent Kalamazoo College. Following the two wins, the Thunder are now 22-4 overall and 5-1 in MIAA play.

Baugh played a huge role in the wins offensively for Trine. She finished the week with a .833 batting average, a .857 on-base percentage and a 1.667 slugging percentage.

In the first of the teams two games Baugh finished two-for-two including a double and a walk. In the second game, she would finish off the day by going three-for-four including two RBIs. Her three hits included two doubles and the first triple of her career. It is the first time this season that Baugh has finished a game with three extra-base hits.

Following the week, Baugh currently leads all freshman in the MIAA with a .418 batting average, a .515 on-base percentage, and a .836 slugging percentage.

Trine will continue MIAA play when they travel to face Albion College on Wednesday, April 11 for a doubleheader which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
