Fox, Robles Named NFCA All-Americans

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named two Trine softball players NCAA Division III All-Americans. Senior Kaylee Fox (Vermilion, Ohio / Edison) was named an at-large first-team selection while Erica Robles (Long Beach Calif. / Lakewood) earned second-team honors as an outfielder.

It is the second time that Fox has been named an NFCA All-American, after earning third-team honors in 2015. She is just the second Thunder player to earn NFCA first-team honors, Carly Searles is the other earning the honor three times in her career. This is the first time that Robles has garnered All-American accolades.

Fox finished the season with 17 home runs, 63 RBIs and a .984 slugging percentage leading the team and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) in all three categories. She is currently third in the country in RBIs and home runs. Earlier this season she broke the Trine career record for RBIs and ends her collegiate career with 206. Fox also received first-team NFCA All-Region and All-MIAA honors this season.

Robles finished the season with a team and MIAA high .486 batting average. She began this season with a 30 consecutive game hit streak, dating back to last season, the longest in school history. Robles was named first-team NFCA All-Region and All-MIAA second-team earlier this year.

The Thunder finished their season with an 11th straight trip to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship tournament. Trine finished with a 26-13 overall record.
