Kampmann Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

ANGOLA, Ind. – In a jam-packed week for the Trine University softball team junior Hannah Kampmann (St. Paul, Minn. / Cretin Derham Hall) rose above her Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) counterparts and was named Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today.

It is the first time that Kampmann has earned the award in her career and the third time for a Thunder pitcher this season.

Kampmann finished the week with four complete games and four wins. Two of those games went down as shutouts and she allowed just three runs totals to finish the week with a 0.81 ERA. Kampmann walked just one batter while fanning 21 during the week.

Her first shutout of the week came against visiting Adrian College where she gave the Thunder a crucial 1-0 win. She allowed just two hits in the contest along with no walks and added seven strikeouts.

She then finished off the week in style picking up her second shutout during a 10-0 win over Manchester University. During the contest, she faced just one more batter than the minimum allowing just one hit with no walks and three strikeouts.

Trine finished the week with a 19-3 overall record and a 5-1 record in MIAA play. They will continue their season by traveling to face Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, April 10. The MIAA doubleheader is set to start at 3 p.m.
