Rosey Wins Second MIAA Pitcher of the Week Award

FREELAND, Mich. – Adrienne Rosey (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Schoolcraft) of the Trine University softball team has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Pitcher of the week for the Monday, May 2 iteration of the award.

This is the second time in her career and this season that Rosey has earned the award. This is the fifth time a Thunder softball student-athlete has been named MIAA Athlete of the Week.

Rosey played a crucial role during a pair of MIAA doubleheaders, leading the team from the circle as they secured four wins and their 11th MIAA Championship. She would finish the week with a 1.50 ERA while striking 15 and allowing just six hits and two walks.

Rosey started the week with her second no-hitter of the season, keeping the visiting Alma College squad off the scoreboard completely with just three batters reaching base, two on errors and one on a walk. She would strikeout nine in the contest and the offense would plate four to give the team the 4-0 win. The team would go on to sweep the Scots.

Trine would need another sweep of visiting Hope College to secure the MIAA Regular Season Championship and once again Rosey came to play. She took the circle for the first game of the day and started spectacularly holding the opposition scoreless through the first four innings despite an hour-long rain delay. She would finish the game with another victory, this time by the score of 8-4. Only three of the runs were earned and she would strikeout six during the contest.
