Foster joined the Trine softball coaching staff in August of 2022. She came to the program after finishing her college career at the University of Indianapolis, which competes in NCAA Division II.

During Foster's five years as a Greyhound, the team reached four NCAA Division II Softball Championship tournaments, including one super-regional appearance, only missing out when the season was halted early due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

While there she racked up multiple awards for both her work on the field and in the classroom. She was named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) three times twice on second team and once on third team. She was named Academic All-GLVC all five years at the school and was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete three times.
