Trine Skating Hosts Successful Recruitment Weekend

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University skating program welcomed 30 skaters to the Thunder Ice Arena for the programs first annual recruitment weekend. Skaters traveled from nine different states, including Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri and Minnesota, to see what Trine Skating is all about and learn from Head Coach Rachel Franchock.

"It's very promising for a brand new program to have this much success at their first recruiting event", shared Coach Franchock, "Having just launched the program in January, it's really impressive that we attracted this many skaters for this event. I think it speaks volumes to the support the Trine University provides us and also the work ethic of everyone committed to making this program successful".

Skaters and parents praised Trine Skating for an incredibly well organized, educational and fun-filled skating weekend as they got a feel for Trine Skating. Attendees were exposed to drills with Coach Franchock, pair elements and spins from guest coaches and enjoying downtime on campus with new friends from across the country. Both parents and skaters also had the opportunity to tour the campus, eat in Trine's fabulous dining hall and participate in a question and answer session.

"I'm overwhelmingly excited for what is in store for Trine Skating," boasted Coach Franchock, "The skaters we are attracting are smart, hardworking, eager to learn and try new things, and best of all, they have a huge heart for the sport. As a coach, I couldn't be happier".

Trine Skating will begin practice starting this fall.
