Trine would continue to hold roughly a 10 point lead through most of the early second half. With 4:43 left in the game, the Thunder led 54-43 but Edgewood would try to close the gap. Leading by just six with under two minutes to play, sophomore Kelsey Henselmeier (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) would be fouled while making a layup and convert on the ensuing free throw to cement the win. The Thunder would hold the Eagles to just one basket and a free throw in the finals minutes to close out the game.

Henselmeier led all players with a season-high 14 points, eight of which came from the charity stripe. Edgewood employed a full-court press for most of the game, but the Thunder used that to their advantage, scoring 14 points off the fast break. The Eagles attempted a season-high 71 shots, but the Thunder defense allowed just 20 Edgewood field goals. Trine attempted and made a season-high 23-of-34 from the free throw line on the night.
