Albion Overpowers Trine

ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine's women's basketball team was defeated by Albion, 84-63, in MIAA-action Saturday afternoon in Hershey Hall.

The Britons held a 34-16 edge in points in the paint and outrebounded the Thunder by a 45-23 margin. Leading the way for Albion was Brett deBear, who scored 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting. Bailey Tuttle came off the bench to notch a double-double, with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Laura Rosekrans (Williamston, Mich./Williamston) led Trine with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. She connected on 5-of-9 attempts from three-point range. Her performance helped the Thunder hit a season-high 10 threes. Trine falls to 5-16 overall, 2-10 in the MIAA. Albion improves to 7-15 overall, 3-10 in conference play.

Brittany Herr (Metamora, Ohio/Evergreen) came off the bench to score a career-high nine points for the Thunder. She knocked down 3-of-7 attempts from long range. Becky Depp (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) added a career-high seven points. Trine shot 40 percent from the field (23-of-57).

Mikaela Bromeley filled the stat sheet with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists for Albion. Olivia Savage also reached double-digures with 11 points to go along with four assists. The Britons shot 51 percent from the field (31-of-61) and hit 8-of-17 three-point attempts (48 percent).

Trine returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 12 when they travel to Adrian. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
