Dawson Named to D3Hoops.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS—Trine's Brandi Dawson has been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.

Dawson (Garrett, Ind./Garrett) earned the honor after averaging 26 points per game last week as Trine faced No. 7 ranked Hope and Olivet. The sophomore shot 67 percent on the weekend and averaged five rebounds per game and notched five steals and four blocked shots.

The Team of the Week presented by Scoutware is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 20th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Against nationally ranked Hope, Dawson hit her first 10 shots from the field on the way to a career-high 33 points. She went 12 for 17, shooting 71 percent from the field. Dawson now sits in fourth place in the record books for the most points in a game in team history. Against MIAA opponent Olivet, Dawson recorded 19 points in 20 minutes. She also added four steals and three blocked shots.

Dawson sits in third place in the MIAA with 16.2 points per game. She is also second in field goal percentage at 53.0. Against MIAA opponents, Dawson is second in the league with 15.6 points per game.

Trine has a 15-2 overall record this season and is 8-1 against MIAA opponents. The team is receiving 41 votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.

The Thunder returns to Hershey Hall on Wednesday when it will play host to Saint Mary's. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
