ANGOLA, Ind. -- Trine's Brandi Dawson is a finalist of HERO Sports' Player of the Year award.
Dawson (Garrett, Ind. / Garrett) is one of 12 finalists for the award, which is determined by fan vote. Fans can vote up to once per hour. The winner will be announced Thursday, March 16 at 3 p.m.

Dawson earned D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region honors for the first time in her career. She was named the MIAA Most Valuable Player after leading the Thunder to its first MIAA Championship and MIAA Tournament titles. Led by Dawson, Trine appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
Dawson shot 54.5 percent from the field this season. She ranked 25th in the nation in field goal percentage during the regular season. Dawson averaged a team-best 15.4 points per game.
Trine finished the season 25-3 overall. The Thunder were ranked 15th in the final regular season poll released by D3hoops.com.
