Thunder WBB Ranked in Top-25 in Attendance in 2017-18

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its annual attendance report for the 2017-18 women's basketball season and Trine University finished in the top-25 ranking with the 23rd highest attendance in Division III.

Trine averaged 438 fans per game in 2017-18 to rank 23rd overall.  The Thunder were one of two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) members to make the list with Hope (Mich.) College taking top honors with a 1,484 average.

In addition, four of the top-five attended games in the nation this past season included a school from the MIAA.  Hope recorded the top three games and Trine had the fifth-most attended game against Wartburg (Iowa) College in the NCAA "Sweet 16" with 2,000 patrons.

Trine posted a record-setting 26 wins (26-4) in 2017-18, along with making an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament "Sweet 16" for the first time in program history since joining the NCAA in only its second all-time trip to the NCAA postseason.  Trine also shared the MIAA Regular-Season Championship, claiming its second overall MIAA title in back-to-back seasons.
