ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine women's basketball team has announced its 2018-19 schedule.
Trine is coming off of a season in which it posted a record-setting 26 wins (26-4) in 2017-18, along with making an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament "Sweet 16" for the first time in program history since joining the NCAA in only its second all-time trip to the NCAA postseason. Trine also shared the MIAA Regular-Season Championship, claiming its second overall MIAA title in back-to-back seasons.
The season tips off with three straight home games, beginning with a matchup against Denison (Ohio) University in the season-opener on Nov. 10 at the MTI Center. The Thunder will then host Otterbein (Ohio) University on Nov. 16 and DePauw University on Nov. 18. All three teams advanced to its respective conference tournaments last season with DePauw and Trine meeting in the first round of the 2017-18 NCAA Division III Tournament in which the Thunder defeated the Tigers, 65-50.
The MIAA slate opens with an away contest against Alma (Mich.) College on Dec. 1 and will then welcome Kalamazoo (Mich.) College to the MTI Center on Dec. 5 in the conference home opener. The Thunder once again take on every league foe twice. The team hosts six of its nine games in the month of January, including a string of five-straight games to end the month.
The regular season will then conclude with back-to-back road games against Albion on Feb. 9 and Kalamazoo on Feb. 16.
