Williams Named MIAA "Player of the Week"

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University women's basketball player Cassidy Williams (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Player of the Week."

The Thunder remained unbeaten with three victories this past week and secured the outright MIAA regular-season championship.  Trine has now won, or shared, the last three MIAA regular-season titles with the last outright championship coming during the 2016-17 season which marked the first conference title for WBB since joining the MIAA.

Individually, Williams averaged 13.3 points per game with 10 points against Olivet (Mich.) College, 12 points in the win against Saint Mary's (Ind.) College and 18 points against Albion.  She shot 50.0 percent (13-of-26) from the floor and also averaged four rebounds per game to rank among the team leaders.  In addition, Williams tallied nine assists, had one blocked shot and five steals.

The Thunder will wrap-up the regular season when it travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. next Saturday, Feb. 16 for a MIAA matchup against Kalamazoo College.  The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
