LILBURN, Ga. – The Trine University women's basketball team has been voted 11th in the opening Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll of the 2021-22 season.
The Thunder are 4-1 so far on the season with wins by an average of 34.0 points. Their lone loss came at the hands of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, who was mentioned as a team receiving votes in the poll.
Trine is averaging 75.2 points per game and are shooting 46.8% from the field through five games. Tara Bieniewicz [Chesterfield, Mich. / Dakota] and Rachel Stewart [Pekin, Ind. / Eastern] are double-digit scorers at 12.8 and 11.6 points per game.
The next game on the schedule for the Thunder is on Saturday, November 27 at Ohio Northern University. Tip-off is set for 3 pm.
