Women's Basketball Stays Put in D3hoops.com Top 25

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team has held true at the number 17 ranking in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. It is the third consecutive week that the Thunder have been mentioned as one of the top teams in the country.

Trine women's basketball is 6-1 in the 2023-24 season after securing a win 88-54 over Saint Mary's College last week. The Thunder are now 3-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.

Sidney Wagner had a season-high 23 points to go with eight rebounds and nine assists in the victory to earn her second MIAA Athlete of the Week award of the year. Wagner leads the conference in scoring at 18.1 points and 4.4 assists per game. Sierra Hinds and Allison Capouch each tallied 13 points apiece in the win, a new career-best for the freshman Capouch.

The team's next opponent, the University of Wisconsin-Stout, entered the Top 25 for the first time this season at #24. The 7-1 Blue Devils will visit the MTI Center on Saturday, December 16 for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
