Women's Golf Places Seventh at Indiana Wesleyan

MARION, IND.-- The Trine women's golf team placed seventh in the Indiana Wesleyan Spring Invitational, held Friday and Saturday at Arbor Trace Golf Club.

The Thunder totaled a two-round score of 709. Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) each carded two-round scores of 167 to finish tied for 10th to lead Trine. Kaitlan Allen of Lindsey Wilson was the individual medalist after shooting a four-over 150. Led by the top-three golfers in the event, Lindsey Wilson took home the team trophy with a score of 629.

Jennifer Sir Louis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) improved their round one scores by seven strokes in round two to finish tied for third among Thunder golfers. The two rounded out Trine's top four golfers that contributed to the overall team score.

Trine returns to the links Wednesday, Apr. 16 when they play the first round of the MIAA NCAA Championship Qualifier at Blackthorne Golf Club in South Bend, Ind. The winner of the three-round tournament receives an automatic-qualifying bid the National Championships.
