THUNDER SECOND AT MANCHESTER INVITE

WABASH, Ind. - The Trine University women's golf team closed out their busy week with a runner-up finish at the Manchester University Fall Invitational with a team score of 350.

Played at the par-72, 5,858 yard Honeywell Golf Course, Hanover College swept the team and individual medalist honors winning with a team score of 336 while Brooke McKay was the medalist with an 80 on the day.

For the Thunder, sophomore Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) led the way with an 83 on the day to finish tied for third. Freshman Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) finished tied for 10th after shooting an 87 for the round. Sitting one shot back was junior Leisha Beutler (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) in a tie for 12th. Sophomore Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) carded a 92 for the round to finish tied for 21st. Rounding out the team scoring for Trine was freshman Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) with a 106 to finish in 43rd place.

Playing as individuals for the Thunder were senior Jennifer Sir Louis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), junior Alex Ziaya (Flushing, Mich./Flushing) and freshmen Jamie Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) and Allyson Ross (Akron, Ind./Tippecanoe Valley). Frost led the pack with an 88 to tie for 12th. Sir Louis would tie for 34th with a 99 while Ross shot a 111 to finish 45th and Ziaya rounded out the squad with a 112 to place 46th.
