Worthington Second as Team Finishes Fifth at Jamboree

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - At the second MIAA Women's Jamboree of the season, the Trine University golfers took fifth place with a team score of 358. Through two rounds, the Thunder are in fifth place overall with a total score of 724. Olivet leads the standings with a 650 while Hope holds onto the coveted fourth and final spot in the conference tournament with a 713.

Hosted by Kalamazoo College at the par-72, 5,809 yard Milham Park Golf Club, Olivet took the team honors with a combined score of 321. Olivet's Adrienne Plourde also took the individual medalist honors with a 76.

Sophomore Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) led the Thunder as she tied for second, carding an 80 for the round. Freshman Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) shot an 89 for the round to finish in a tie for 19th place. Fellow freshman Jamie Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) finished in a tie for 34th after finishing her round with a 94. Sitting just one shot back in a tie for 36th was sophomore Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) shooting a 95 for the afternoon. Junior Leisha Beutler (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) rounded out the scoring for the Thunder with a 99 to finish in a tie for 43rd place.

Playing as an individual, freshman Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) shot a 90 for the round to finish in a tie for 23rd.

Trine returns to the course on Oct. 2 as they travel to Calvin for the third MIAA Jamboree of the season beginning at 1 p.m.
