ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine women's golf team has announced the fall portion of their 2014 schedule, the team announced Monday.
The Thunder will compete in nine matches over the course of the fall season. The season opens Friday, Sep. 5 with the first of two rounds at the Olivet College Fall Invitational, which will be held at Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich. The 2013-14 season saw Trine earn the chance to compete in the spring MIAA National Qualifier after a strong performance in the fall. The Thunder finished third in the spring Qualifier and produced two All-MIAA selections, Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport and Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview).
The MIAA season includes four Jamborees, which will be hosted by St. Mary's, Alma, Hope and Adrian. The MIAA Championship will once again be held at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich. This year's Championship will be hosted by Albion Oct. 10-11.
Non-conference events also include the Manchester University Fall Invitational and a trip to Wisconsin for the UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational. Trine has had success in the Manchester event recently, with a second-place finish on the course last fall and a first-place finish in the spring.
Wrapping up the season is the Trine University Fall Classic, which will be held Oct. 18 at Zollner Golf Course.
