ALMA, MICH.-- Amy Worthington won indiividual medalist honors at the MIAA Jamboree at Alma to lead the Thunder to a fourth-place finish Saturday at Pine River Country Club.
Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) fired a 77 (+5) to win the eighth event of her Trine career. The junior became the second-consecutive Thunder golfer to medal in the first two rounds of the Jamboree, after Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) won the opening round at St. Mary's. Overall, the Thunder carded a team score of 339. Trine is in fourth-place overall in the standings with a two-round score of 676. Hope shot a 318 in the Jamboree at Alma and leads overall with a score of 648.
Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) finished in a tie for 10th overall with an 83, one stroke better than her season-average. Jaime Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) finished five-strokes better than her season-average with an 85. Rounding out Trine's top four was McPherron.

The Jamboree at Alma was the second of six rounds of play that determine the MIAA Championship. The top four teams will advance to the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring, where they will compete for an automatic-qualifying bid to the National Championships.
The next Jamboree will be hosted by Hope on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck, Mich.
