Women's Golf in Second at Washington U Invite

MADISON, Ill.-- The Trine women's golf team is in 10th-place after the first round of the Washington University Spring Invitational, held Saturday at Gateway Golf Links.

The Thunder accumulated at team score of 338 in round one. Leading the way was Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth), who each fired 81s (+9) to finish in a tie for 23rd. The event marks the first major tournament action of the spring for Trine. William Woods University sits atop the team leaderboard with a score of 297. WWUs Katie Warren led all golfers with a 71.

Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview), Jamie Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) and Katherine Guertin (Worthington, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) rounded out the Thunder competitors in round one.
