Thunder Fourth After Round One of Spring Invite

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's golf team is in fourth place after round one of the Trine University Spring Invitational, contested Friday at Zollner Golf Course.

Thunder golfers battled windy conditions to accumulate a score of 347. Trine's top group was made up of Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview), Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport), Katherine Guertin (Worthington, Ohio/Bishop Watterson), Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) and Mikala Freeland (Danville, Ind./Danville Community). DeBelly carded a six-over 78 to finish round one in fourth place. Trine is two strokes back of Calvin for third place.

Worthington finished second in Trine's top group with an 87 and is tied for 15th overall. Guertin is one stroke behind in a tie for 18th with a score of 88. McPherron rounded out the top four for the Thunder with a 94.

Hope is in first place in the team standings with a score of 327. Britney Gielow is in first place individually with a 76 (+4).

The Trine University Spring Invitational concludes tomorrow. The second round tees off at 1 p.m.
