WABASH, Ind.-- The Trine women's golf team placed second in the Manchester University Spring Invitational, held Saturday at Honeywell Golf Club.
Thunder golfers totaled a score of 373. Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) carded the team's best score with an 89. The score was 10 strokes better than her season-average. Gordon tied for third. Alison Brimmer (Angola, Ind./Angola) finished just behind with a 90. St. Francis (Ind.) won the team title with a score of 355.

McKenzie Rhodes (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne), Brooke Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and Jordan Stevens (Brownstown, Ind./Brownstown Central) rounded out the Trine team group. Natalie Woodley (Grayling, Mich./Grayling) also competed as an individual. Rhodes carded a season-best round.
Trine will play round two of the MIAA National Qualifier this Monday, April 20 at Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck, Mich. The Thunder are in third place entering the second round.
