SAUGATUCK, Mich.-- The Trine women's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of play in the MIAA National Qualifer.
The Thunder finished fourth in round two with a score of 355, but remained in third place after finishing third in round one. Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) led all Thunder golfers with an 83 (+11) to finish in a tie for sixth. DeBelly has Trine's best average score in the qualifier through two rounds. The Thunder have accumulated a team score of 698 through the opening two rounds, putting them 15-strokes ahead of St. Mary's.

Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) carded an 88 to finish second among Trine golfers. Katherine Guertin (Worthington, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) and Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) rounded out Trine's top four with 92s. Mikala Freeland (Danville, Ind./Danville Community) capped off Thunder golfers competing in the event.
The MIAA National Qualifier wraps up tomorrow at Ravines Golf Club. The winner of the three-round tournament receives an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
