ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's golf team has released its schedule for this fall, the team announced Wednesday.
The Thunder women have four tournaments prior to opening the conference schedule. The season opens Friday, Aug. 28 on the home links of Zollner Golf Course as the team hosts the inaugural Trine University Kick-Off Classic. The one-round tournament is being held on the first day collegiate teams are able to compete in the fall.
The season-opening tournament is one of three events on the schedule that precede the MIAA slate. Trine will make return trips to the fall Olivet and Manchester invites and will compete in a two-round tournament hosted by Carthage College.
The conference schedule once again features four jamborees held prior to the two-round conference championship. The Thunder will host the final jamboree round Saturday, Oct. 3. The MIAA Championship will be contested Oct. 9-10 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich.
Trine is coming off a season in which the team placed fourth in the MIAA in the fall to earn a second-straight trip to the MIAA National Qualifier. The Thunder placed third in the national qualifier.
Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) became the team's first two-time All-MIAA First Team performer, while Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) earned second-team honors.
