Worthington named MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week

FREELAND, Mich.-- Trine's Amy Worthington was named the MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Worthington (Logansport, Ind/Logansport) earned a third-place finish in the Olivet College Fall Invitational this past weekend. Worthington shot a seven-over 79 in round two to move up from her sixth-place performance after round one. It was the second-consecutive top-three finish for the senior. She is being honored as the MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week for the third-time in her career.

Worthington has started her senior season in strong fashion after back-to-back all-conference campaigns. Worthington is the only women's golfer in Trine history to earn All-MIAA First Team honors twice. She placed second overall in Carthage College's Shootout on the Border last weekend.

Led by Worthington, Trine placed sixth in the Olivet College Fall Invitational. The Thunder conclude non-conference tournament action this Saturday at the Manchester Fall Invitational.
