Women's Golf Team Announces Spring Schedule

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's golf team has released its spring schedule for the 2016 season, the team announced Thursday.

The Thunder will once again have the opportunity to compete for an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships. Trine will compete alongside Hope, Olivet and Saint Mary's in the three-round MIAA National Qualifier. The winner of the tournament receives the AQ to the national tournament. The National Qualifier makes up the final three rounds of spring play. The first round will be hosted by Olivet at Medalist Golf Club, with the final two rounds being hosted by Hope at Ravines Golf Club.

Trine will once again host the Trine Spring Classic on the home links of Zollner Golf Course Apr. 8-9. This is the second-straight year the tournament will be two rounds. The Thunder placed third in its home tournament last spring.

The spring schedule opens with a spring-break trip to Florida, where Trine will compete in the River Greens Spring Classic. Webber International will be hosting the tournament.

Other tournaments include trips to the Washington University (St. Louis) Spring Invitational and the Wisconsin-Whitewater Spring Invitational. This will be Trine's first trip to the Whitewater event.

Trine placed fourth in the MIAA during the fall season. Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) each earned All-MIAA Second Team honors.
