AVON PARK, Fla.-- The Trine women's golf team opened its spring season with a second-place finish in the River Greens Spring Classic at River Greens Golf Club.
Thunder golfers combined to card a score of 376 (+88) to finish 23 strokes behind first-place Webber International. Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio / Northview) carded Trine's best score with an 87. DeBelly is coming off her third-consecutive All-MIAA Second Team performance in the fall. Savanna Fisher and Shelby Hart of Webber International tied for medalist honors as each golfer notched an 96 (+14).

Jaime Frost (Saint John, Ind. / Hanover Central) opened the spring with a 92, right in line with her season average. Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) and Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) rounded out Trine's top four.
The Thunder return to action when the team travels to the Washington (Mo.) Spring Invitational in Saint Louis, Mo. The two-round tournament tees off Saturday, Apr. 2.
