Thunder Place 12th in WUSTL Spring Invitational

CLAYTON, Mo.-- The Trine women's golf team placed 12th in the WUSTL Spring Invitational at Norman K. Probstein Golf Course.

Thunder golfers saw an 11-stroke improvement in their performance in round two as they carded a 361 to finish with a two-day total of 733. Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio / Northview) tied for 29th to finish as Trine's top performer in the event. DeBelly shot an 84 in round two to earn a two-round score of 170. Rhodes College won the team title with a score of 613 (+53). Mackenzie Cohen led the way as the individual medalist.

Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) saw an eight-stroke improvement in her second round of play as she finished with an 88. The round allowed her to finish second among Thunder golfers. Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind. / North Manchester) and Brooke Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Prairie Ridge) rounded out Trine's top four.

Jaime Frost (Saint John, Ind. / Hanover Central) saw the largest improvement among Thunder golfers in the two rounds. Frost's day two score was a 12-stroke improvement over her effort in round one.

Trine will host the Trine University Spring Classic this weekend on the home links of Zollner Golf Course. The tournament tees off Friday at 1 p.m.
