Women's Golf Places Fourth in Cleary Invitational

HOWELL, Mich.-- The Trine women's golf team placed fourth in the Cleary University Invitational, held Friday at Chemung Hills Golf Club.

Thunder golfers combined for a score of 490 to finish in the middle of the seven-team tournament field. Jordan Stevens (Brownstown, Ind. / Brownstown Central) led Trine golfers with a 91 to finish 12th overall. The sophomore's score was six strokes better than her season average. All five golfers for each team participating were counted towards the team score.

Brooke Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Prairie Ridge) also beat her previous season average score with a 95 to finish second among Thunder golfers and 17th overall. Natalie Woodley (Grayling, Mich. / Grayling) finished one stroke behind to tie for 19th.

Amanda Pucher (Holly, Mich. / Holly) and Shannon Hicks (Marshall, Mich. / Marshall ) rounded out Trine golfers competing in the event.

NAIA member Siena Heights won the team championship with a score of 429. Cleary University's Madison Smith finished with an 11-over 83 to take home individual medalist honors.

Trine returns to action next weekend at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invitational at Delbrook Golf Course in Delavan, Wis.
