SAUGATUCK, Mich.-- The Trine women's golf team tied for third in the second MIAA National Qualifier round, held Friday at Ravines Golf Club.
The Thunder remained in fourth place in the National Qualifier with the performance. Trine golfers combined for a 347 on the day to tie with Olivet. The Thunder trail third-place Olivet by seven strokes after two rounds. The winner of the three-round, 54-hole tournament receives an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Julia DeBelly (Sylvinia, Ohio / Northview) carded Trine's best score on the day, shooting a nine-over 80. DeBelly's performance tied her for sixth individually. Jaime Frost (Saint John, Ind. / Hanover Central) continued her strong play of late with an 85. Frost has tied or beaten her best score from the fall three times in her last four rounds.
Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) and Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) rounded out Trine's top four as each golfer carded a 91.
The MIAA National Qualifier concludes tomorrow at Ravines Golf Club. The final round is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
