ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's golf team has released its fall schedule, the team announced Wednesday.
The Thunder will compete in four tournaments prior to opening conference play. Two of those tournaments will be contested on the home links of Zollner Golf Course, including the season opening Trine University Kick-Off Classic. The first round of the fall will be held Friday, Aug. 26. Trine will also host a Fall Classic tournament on Sep. 14.
The non-conference portion of the schedule also includes a return to Carthage College's Shootout on the Border. The team placed fifth in last year's tournament. The Thunder will also compete in the Kyle Campbell Invitational at Medalist Golf Club. The event will offer Trine a chance to compete at the site of a later conference round.
The conference schedule once again features four Jamborees held prior to the two-round conference championship. This year's Jamborees will be hosted by Albion, Saint Mary's, Hope and Alma. The MIAA Championship rounds are slated for Oct. 7-8 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich.
Last season, Trine placed fourth in the MIAA in the fall to earn a berth in the MIAA Spring Qualifier. The Thunder will return three-time All-MIAA Second Team performer Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio / Northview).
