Women's Golf in Seventh After Day One of Kyle Campbell Classic

MARSHALL, Mich.—The Trine University women's golf team sits in seventh place after day one of Olivet's Kyle Campbell Classic.

The Thunder shot a combined 357 on day one. Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Hope College is sitting in first place with a score of 319.

Senior Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) shot the lowest score for the Thunder at 82 to sit in 11th place individually. Her classmate Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) shot 85 to be in a tie for 19th. Also golfing for the Thunder were Brooke Johnson (93, T46th) (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge), Claire Barnett (97, T60) (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Jaime Frost (100, 64) (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central).

DePauw University is in second place, and Rachele Miller shot one over-73 to top the individual leader board.

The second round of the Kyle Campbell Classic will begin on Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
