Women's Golf Takes Fourth at Fourth MIAA Jamboree

ALMA, Mich.—The Trine women's golf team took fourth place at the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree on Saturday afternoon at Alma.

Trine golfers combined to shoot 42 over-330. Saint Mary's and Hope College tied for the top spot at 33 over-321, while Olivet finished one stroke behind at 34 over-322.

Senior Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) finished in a tie for the top medalist spot shooting four-over 76. DeBelly tied with Olivet's Laura Bacso and Hope's Megan Klintworth. The Trine senior led the field with 13 pars and added one birdie on the day.

Junior Brooke Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) turned in a career-best 82 to tie for 10th place. Senior Jaime Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) tied for 17th shooting 84. Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) shot 88 to tie for 26th. Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) tied for 34th at 92.

The Thunder will compete in the MIAA Championship next week at the Bedford Valley Golf Course.
