ANGOLA, Ind.—The Trine women's golf team sits in fourth place after day one of the Trine University Spring Classic on Friday evening.
The Thunder battled cold and rainy conditions on the first day of competition in their spring schedule.
Senior Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) turned in the top score for Trine at 13 over-85 to sit in a tie for seventh. Amanda McPherron posted a round of 14 over-86 for 10th place for the Trine white team. Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) shot 15 over for a tie in 11th place, and Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) is in a tie for 17th at 20 over-92. Katelyn Tedder (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) and Lyndsey Welper (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) round out the top 20 tied for 19th at 22 over for the white team.
Hope College sits in the top spot as a team at 43 over. Saint Mary's and Cleary are tied for second at 59 over.
Day two will begin at 9 a.m. at the Zollner Golf Course.
