Four Golfers Finish in Top-15 at Trine Spring Classic

ANGOLA, Ind.—The Trine women's golf team finished the Trine Spring Classic in fourth place on Saturday afternoon. Senior Julia DeBelly completed the weekend in a tie for third place.

DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) shot an 81 on day two shaving off four strokes from her Friday card.

Cleary's Madison Smith was named the individual medalist after turning in a round of 78 on Saturday to climb to the top of the leader board. Smith was 16 over for the weekend and ended with a five-stroke lead. Hope's Megan Klintworth shot 21 over to secure second place, one stroke in front of the three-way tie for third place.

Hope College took first place, finishing 19 shots in front of second place Saint Mary's. Cleary was third.

Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) finished in a tie for 11th place for the Trine white team. Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) tied for 14th at 32 over. Gordon shaved eight strokes off her second round.

The Thunder return to action next weekend when they travel to Ostrander, Ohio for the Laura Bump Invitational on April 8 and 9.
