ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine women's golf team has announced the fall portion of its 2017 schedule.
The Thunder open the season on the home links of Zollner Golf Course for the third straight year. The team will host the Trine University Kick-off Classic Friday, Aug, 25 at 2 p.m. Trine placed second in last season's opening tournament after winning the inaugural edition in 2015. The tournament is one of two rounds the team will play at home this fall.
The non-conference schedule concludes with back-to-back two round tournaments. The Thunder travel to Carthage College's Shootout on the Border Sep. 1-2. Trine placed fourth in last season's tournament. Trine rounds out non-conference rounds at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich., where the Thunder compete in the Kyle Campbell Invitational.
Conference play once again consists of four MIAA Jamboree rounds prior to the two-round MIAA Championship. Trine will host the second Jamboree of the season on Sep. 23. Olivet, Calvin and Adrian also host Jamboree rounds this fall.
The MIAA Championship will be held Oct. 6-7 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich. The Thunder will be seeking its fifth consecutive finish among the top four in the conference. The top four teams advance to the MIAA National Qualifier in the spring, where they compete for the chance to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship.
